The Department of Statistics and the Department of STEM Education have partnered to offer a new online graduate certificate in Teaching and Learning Statistics and Data Science. The program consists of 12 hours (4 courses) and focuses on developing knowledge of core statistical and data science concepts and methods along with best practices for instruction. The program is meant to serve future and practicing high school and college teachers in any discipline that uses data, as well as graduate students interested in faculty or teaching careers. Those that complete the program will be able to apply common statistical and data science analyses to data using a programming language, understand common misunderstandings of how people interpret data and models, and use effective teaching strategies to support students' learning of data science and statistics concepts and skills.
