This Month the IMPACT Live! Community Presents:
Fostering Student and Faculty Ownership During a Pandemic
Sponsored by the Mathematics Standards in the First Two Years of College (IMPACT) Committee
The pandemic quickly forced educators to research online best practices and to effectively collaborate with their professional networks (organizations, institutions, departments and adjunct faculty) to finish out the spring semester. There is every indication that online instruction will be the status quo. As a result, students will expect more from their instructors (faculty ownership) and faculty should expect more from their students (student ownership). This month Student Ownership of Learning will be defined and ideas for how faculty can help foster it will be presented. The discussion will also include other aspects of faculty ownership as they work towards engaged learning in the new normal.
