I think that many people are unaware of the variety of grants that are available.  We tend to focus on NSF grants (of which actually there are a wide variety that people are not aware of ) but there are other exciting opportunities out there.  Matching your ideas with a grant source can be difficult - especially if you do not know what is out there.
