That interests me too Karen. I was asking the question of should we keep teaching certain topics at IMACC. For College Algebra/Pre-Calc, I was asking this question of the rational roots theorem and Descartes Rule of Signs as a starting point.
Another related questions I had is why are we still teaching using graphing calculators? I don't think they were ever an industry standard, and realistically, if I ever needed to do any computation or graphing question I would be using a website or my phone.

I would love to see people working on projects that move the mathematics curriculum forward. Due to our ever changing world we all need to take a look at our basic courses - especially College Algebra/Pre-Calc to determine WHAT and HOW we should be teaching.

Do you have any project ideas that might enhance the work that you do?
