Join our panelists as they discuss their journey to implement corequisite courses, decisions made along the way, and lessons learned. ABOUT THE SPEAKERS Candace Lawrence is an instructor of mathematics at Potomac State College of West Virginia University, located in Keyser, WV. She has a Master’s degree in math education and elementary education. She utilizes Hawkes Learning to aide her instruction for classes ranging from College Algebra corequisite and noncorequisite courses to Trigonometry . When she is not busy teaching she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. Amy Young has taught developmental mathematics at Navarro College for over 15 years. During this time she has been working on her Ph.D. in education. At Navarro College, Amy has taught both credit-level math and psychology classes. She has also assisted in creating a handbook for the adjunct faculty and has been instrumental in developing and organizing a conference for the adjunct instructors teaching developmental math, reading, and writing.Melinda Clardy is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at South Louisiana Community College (SLCC) where she has worked for five years. As an online course lead and one of the first to teach SLCC’s hybrid corequisite model for college algebra, she has learned from experience. She is student-focused, but enjoys discussing topics and troubles with her colleagues on all things ranging from academic integrity to low-risk assessments and everything in between!Christina Holdiness received her Master of Science in mathematics from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2009. Since that time, she has held many different positions in academics, from adjunct instructor to full-time online instructor. Currently, Christina is an Associate Professor at Chaffey College, serving as the Instructional Specialist for the STEM Success Center. She enjoys traveling, especially back to her home state of Louisiana to enjoy the outdoors with family and friends.Brandon has taught for Developmental Studies and Mathematics since 2012. He has served in the role of Department Chair of Developmental Studies and Dean of Science, Kinesiology, and PASS. While at Navarro, Brandon has been highly involved in the implementation of Co-Requisite courses, instructional technology, and training.
