We are excited to see you at the 2024 Conference in Atlanta where AMATYC’s various Standards Revision Groups (SRG) will share their progress as they continue to solicit feedback from our membership.

Welcome Message from the Quantitative Reasoning ANet:

Welcome to the March 2024 IMPACT Live! page hosted by the Quantitative Reasoning Academic Network of the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges (AMATYC).  My name is Dr. Lindsey Gerber, and I am going to start this month with an introduction of the Quantitative Reasoning ANet.

The purpose of the Quantitative Reasoning ANet is to support instructors who teach Quantitative Reasoning, Mathematics for Liberal Arts, Quantitative Literacy, Contemporary Mathematics, Mathematical Reasoning, and other titles of general-education gateway courses as well as their corequisite courses.  This network is here to support QR faculty through shared experiences.  The faculty in this network share their experiences with curriculum development, teaching techniques, assessment, and course-related activities and student projects.  There are discussions on issues related to the transferability, corequisites, student placement, student support, and delivery formats in QR-type courses.  This committee also will help faculty overcome obstacles to implementing QR courses at their home college or university.

If this Academic Network interests you, please join us this month sharing your thoughts related to our blog and discussions!
